Outfit7 pleased with initial results from Postitial
Here at Outfit7, we are always looking for innovative ways to improve our mobile advertising business model. Hot topics at the moment are native and video, but few ad networks or DSPs fully support these formats at scale and both still have their respective limitations. What I found exciting about IQzone’s Postitial product was that it reused common full-screen ad formats. This meant that existing campaigns from ad networks and DSPs could be used right away, coupled with the introduction of a new ad placement (the ad only displays when the user ends the app session) which meant incremental revenue for Outfit7.
Getting Postitial integrated into our apps was simple and relatively quick to complete. The Postitial Quick Setup Guide for my exchange/SSP (MoPub) walked me through 3 easy steps to complete the integration.
We decided to run only interstitial ad units for Postitial and the results are a 100% increase in click-through rates (CTR) compared with existing in-app interstitials. The upsurge in ad engagement equated to a considerable increase for our eCPMs and overall ad revenue.
Being a gaming company, we are always conscious of the trade-off that we must make between making money and maintaining a fantastic gaming experience for our users. We liked the fact that Postitial displays ads at the most natural break (after the user has ended the game session), thereby increasing revenues without impacting or comprising the gameplay. We conducted extensive user experience testing and the results came back great, so we are very happy with these results.
What’s next? With our current exchange partner, we will be able to directly sell Postitial to advertisers, which open up new revenue streams with agencies. We will continue to integrate Postitial into more of our Android games and benefit from the incremental revenues this will deliver.
